Reading (pronounced
Red-ding) is the vibrant yet historic county town of Royal Berkshire
in the
south of England. Despite its close proximity to London it is set
in the heart of beautiful countryside, and is near to the attractive
counties of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire. The two major
rivers flowing through Reading, the Thames and the Kennet, are the
key to much of Reading's appeal for people from all over the world.
The location of Reading is shown on the map on the left.

With expertise in cartography and photography, MAP
READING has developed a series of illustrated
maps based on Reading
area, each with useful information about the area covered, and its
history.
For visitors to Reading in particular, we have a large range of postcards featuring photographs taken from our large gallery on this site.
Maps and postcards are available at retail outlets around Reading
and also at our stalls, at which
we also sell greetings cards and lettercards, each featuring a local
scene. In addition we have on sale a special Farmers'
Market Recipe Book, featuring recipes donated by stallholders
at the Reading
Farmers' Market. The second edition of the Emmer
Green history book (produced by Emmer Green Residents' Association)
has now sold out.
