New volunteers are always very welcome, regardless of age or ability.

Work parties are generally pleasant and sociable occasions. Some of the work is quite strenuous, but there are always lighter tasks for those who would prefer them, for whatever reason. We have a break at mid-morning when refreshments are provided: tea, coffee and cake. No previous experience is necessary and tools are provided. Tough clothes, gardening gloves and stout footwear are recommended.

Normally, we work on the first Wednesday of each month, starting at around 9:30am and ending at 12:30pm. Usually, this is at Mill Meadows, but from time to time we switch to the Valley Road Chalk Bank. Around midsummer we often help with some of the annual ragwort pulling at Gillotts Field. Meet
At the far end of Meadow Road, turn right into the River & Rowing Museum car park. Then turn left to meet near the pedestrian gate that accesses the meadow. See map.
Meet near the steps leading from Valley Road up to the chalk bank. Parking is available on Valley Road nearby, just west of the roundabout. See map.
Park on the lay-by on the south side of Greys Road, just west of the junction with Harpsden Hill. The site can be accessed by a gate at each end of the lay-by. See map.
