Fox and Cubs

Fox and Cubs, known also as Orange Hawkweed, is a much taller version of Mouse-ear Hawkweed, but with a dense cover of blackish hairs and clusters of distinctive orange flowers.

Fairly common in grassy places except Northern Scotland and in flower during the summer months.

My thanks to Jill Verran for pointing me in the direction of those in the photograph.
