Dyer's Greenweed

As its name suggests, Dyer's Greenweed was once used in the production of dye. It is a member of the pea family, the flowers yellow and hence it produced a dye of that colour. It will often be found in mats or even small shrubs, locally common on heathland, grassland and scrub on heavier soils.

In flower during the summer months.
