Yellow-wort

Yellow-wort is readily identified by the greyish leaves in pairs around the stem, appearing to join. The flowers are yellow, often closing when the sun is in.

Common in the south on calcareous grassland and in dunes. Less common or rare further north. Flowers from mid summer to mid autumn.
