Corn-cockle

Corn-cockle is a once common flower that has been effectively eradicated from the cornfields it used to populate. The flowers are large with 5 red-purple petals and 5 narrow sepals protuding beyond them.

In flower during the summer months, now restricted to sites that have been specially seeded.
