Greater Knapweed


Greater Knapweed is a tall erect plant with purple flowers that are rayed, that is, spreading outwards from the base of the central head.

Found in grassy places and scrub on calcareous soil, common in the lowlands of the south, but rarer further north. In flower from mid summer to early autumn.
