Common Chickweed

Common Chickweed is an extremely common weed throughout the country. A sprawling plant with small white flowers having 5 deeply notched petals, and pale green leaves.

Thanks to Jacky Sutton-Adam for pointing out that a useful identification feature is a single line of fine hairs down one side of the stem.

Found on cultivated or bare land, and in flower during the whole year.
