Common Figwort

Common Figwort is a tall, robust plant, hairless with square stems. The flowers are purple-brown and never seem to be all out at the same time, nor really ever fully open.

The plant is in flower from late spring to late summer, and can be found on woodland edges, rides and hedge-banks in dryish places.
