Dark Mullein

Dark Mullein has 5-petalled, bright yellow flowers growing up a slender central stem, the purple hairs on the stamens giving each flower a dark looking centre.

Native plants grow mainly on lime grassland and bare ground in the south east, where they are quite common. Rare in Wales, the north of England and in Scotland. In flower during summer and early autumn.
