Spring Crocus

The Spring Crocus is a familiar crocus-type flower with blooms of pale to deep purple with white or purple stripes and linear shaped leaves.

Found most commonly in meadows and grasslands in the south, mostly notably in a field at Inkpen in Berkshire, where it grows in very large numbers.

At its best in early spring.
