Greater Spearwort is a tall, robust type of Buttercup, with bright yellow flowers on unfurrowed stalks and lanceolate (spear shaped) leaves.

Locally common, but rare further north, favouring wet places such as ponds, marshes and fens. In flower during the summer and early autumn.
